MEASURE THE MARIGOLDS is a 12”x16” oil painting on a gallery wrap canvas. This is a wonderful painting of a cluster of marigolds. I picked them from my garden and painted them fresh. The title comes from a nursery song “Inchworm, Inchworm, measuring the marigolds”. The paint is thick and luscious. The flowers seem to pop right off the canvas. The colors and detail in this painting are striking! It was painted with thick impasto strokes. The colors are bright and the brushstrokes are strong.
